Signature Spirit Series: Champagne

If you saw my post earlier today, you know this morning's daily inspiration board was inspired by a recipe for a cocktail I saw over the weekend. Lately I've been thinking what a great opportunity it is to share your personality with a signature drink at your wedding/event and I feel like I'm suddenly seeing great options everywhere!

So, at the risk of two alcohol-related posts in one day, I'm excited to announce a new miniseries on the blog: The Signature Spirit Series! (I'm also a fan of alliteration!) Every Tuesday, I will focus on a different type of liquor and share some of my favorite cocktails that could easily be a signature drink at your event. And because I weirdly feel like I need to prove that my mind does not solely revolve around alcoholic beverages today, I'll start with the classiest drink: champagne!

The Poinsettia

Since it's currently snowing outside, I'll start out with a holiday cocktail. The Poinsettia is a mixture of champagne, vodka and cranberry juice, and is a gorgeous red in color. Garnish with an orange peel, and you've got a great signature drink for a holiday celebration. See the full recipe here!

The Classic Champagne Cocktail

Picking a classic for a signature drink may seem counter-productive, but you know this drink will stand the test of time! It will be something you can enjoy on every anniversary and not have to worry about no one knowing what it is in 15 years. See the full recipe here!

Champagne Punch

A champagne punch is a good way to really incorporate your favorite flavors into a signature drink! Not only is it easy to make in large servings, but there are endless possibilities for the fruits and flavors you can add to it. If it were me, I would make a berry punch or a citrus punch... what about you? See the full recipe here!

The French 75

This drink, developed by a barman in New York in 1915, was so named because the kick it gives is said to resemble the force of the French 75 mm field gun. In other words, this is not your mama's cocktail! See the full recipe here!

The Semifreddo Bellini

This "half-cold" cocktail is a partially frozen spin on the classic champagne cocktail above. See the full recipe here!

There you have it- five champagne cocktails that you could easily make your big day's signature drink! Stay tuned for next tuesday when I will have five more yummy drinks for you to drool over ;)
